Harnessing the Divine Within: Creating Personal Rituals in a New Era
Date: Saturday November 5, 2022
Time: 10am-12pm
Location: 1502 Clipper Mill Rd. Baltimore, MD 21211 (Right next to Birroteca!)
"Ritual is a means of attuning ourselves with one another, to the land, and to the invisible worlds of spirit. Recovering this fundamental skill would help us better tend to the needs of our soul and culture."
~ Francis Weller, The Wild Edge of Sorrow
Join us at SoBotanical in Hampden for a workshop led by Gordon Creamer aimed to explore the values of ritual and to honor life transitions and manifestations. This program will include various components that recognize and uplift individual and collective experiences. Participants will be guided through the process of designing their own personalized ritual through cherished practices such as inspirational readings, meditation, journaling, and other creative exercises. A sensory meditation with diverse essential oils will be offered during the program to highlight some of the necessary ingredients for building and facilitating your own unique ritual. Additional basic supplies will also be provided for each participant as the program unfolds. Please bring a journal for use during the retreat.
About Rituals
The ancient activity of creating and enacting rituals has served spiritual beings on the human journey for millennia. In particular, rituals have enabled humanity to access their inherent, divine spark to cultivate hope and meaning in the midst of life's sweeping changes and ongoing seasons and cycles. Individuals and communities throughout history have been inspired to mark rites of passage with a concrete exercise to commemorate their experiences.
