I have a 2 yo grandson who is nonverbal autistic. He is nonstop on the go due to his neurological makeup. His parents give him prescribed melatonin every night to calm him down. Has lavadula been used to calm children with autism?

SoBotanical

Hi there!
There have been many clinical trials with lavender and children also including trials for autism. You can find many of these online.
Our Bulgarian Lavender is an excellent oil to use in small amounts for calming anyone especially children.
It also is excellent for cuts, bites, bruises, burns, massages, baths and minor skin irritations.
A drop on pillow or on the sheets at night is an easy way to disperse if you don’t have a diffuser.
Hope this helps.

How much do I dilute
And with what water?

SoBotanical

Thanks for your question. The dilution rate depends on usage. You could mix with water to use as a room spray at about 5 to 8 % lavender ( that would be a strong room spray scent). In a product for skin application ( coconut oil, lotion, jojoba oil, almond oil, etc) about 2 % lavender oil is appropriate. A few drops swirled around in a hot bath is a nice use. Specifically lavender essential oil is gentle enough for one drop to be used undiluted on a cut, burn or bite on adult skin. For use on the face we usually use 0.5 to 1% mixed in a face cream, oil, cleanser or mask...but you would want to make sure those products didn't already contain essential oils.
