Let's Talk About Thyme

Posted by Theresa Cangialosi on

Thyme, also known by its botanical name as Thymus vulgaris, is best known for its natural healing properties and distinct herbal scent. Other names include "garden thyme" and "common thyme." (There are more than 300 varieties!)

Thyme essential oil contains thymol—a naturally-occurring phenol—that contributes to its many medicinal qualities: antifungal, antibacterial, antimicrobial, antioxidant, and antiviral. This multi-purpose oil may help eliminate toxins, support the circulatory and immune systems, enhance clarity, soothe scars, and tackle infections.

At SoBotanical, aromatherapy is our speciality, and healing is at the heart of it. We've thoughtfully formulated our products to deliver nature's healing powers in gentle, sustainable ways.

For this reason, thyme essential oil is incorporated in many of our first aid apothecary products and synergy blends to help heal and protect. It's often used to treat fungal, viral, and bacterial infections such as respiratory ailments and dermatitis.

Suggested Uses

*Do not take essential oils internally unless under strict supervision from a qualified aromatherapist. Avoid contact with eyes, inner ears, and sensitive areas.
